AUSA makes donation to Fort Rucker Holiday Food Assistance program

In the October general membership meeting, AUSA chapter president Col. (ret) Mark Jones, left, and AUSA Executive Secretary Tanya Hatley, right, presented Mary Gunter, center, with a check for $3,000 for the Fort Rucker Holiday Food Assistance Program. The Fort Rucker Holiday Food Assistance program is possible due to unsolicited donations from the community. The program helps to alleviate challenges that may accompany the holiday season for active duty soldiers and their families, due to unexpected financial hardship. The families receive vouchers redeemable at the commissary to purchase food for their Thanksgiving and December holiday meals.  Voucher recipients are nominated for the program by their unit commander or unit first sergeant.  (Photo by Emily Edwards)
