Members of the Fort Rucker Directorate of Public Safety visited Donnell Plaza in Daleville Dec. 16 to express appreciation to Chopper’s owner Chris Wood for the 67 meals the restaurant provided to first responders working at the Home of Army Aviation on Thanksgiving Day. “You took your time and resources to reach out to not only first responders on Fort Rucker but in the surrounding area,” said Fort Rucker Director of Public Safety Lt. Col. Phillip R. Lenz. “That speaks volumes of you not only as a business owner in the local community but as a true veteran.” Wood credits local businesses and citizens support for the success of the annual program. Sixty-five volunteers helped deliver 968 meals to area first responders and citizens across the Wiregrass. Pictured, from left, are Lt. Eric Beat, Chief Ocie Conner, Chief John Tkac, Lt.
