The Enterprise Police Department is searching for the suspect in a domestic violence-related stabbing.

According to Public Information Officer Billy Haglund, the EPD responded to the 600 Block of North Rawls Street on Tuesday, Nov. 7, around 6:30 p.m. after receiving a 911 call stating a woman had been stabbed.

Officers located the suspect, who immediately attempted to flee the area in a vehicle, Haglund said. The suspect then exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

EPD detectives discovered the victim and suspect were in a dating relationship, and a verbal altercation occurred prior to the stabbing.

The victim relayed to EPD detectives that after she was stabbed, the suspect bound her feet, according to Haglund. The victim was able to remove the restraints and run from her attacker.

He said the victim was able to flag down a passing motorist who drove her to the hospital.

The victim is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

EPD detectives have obtained arrest warrants on suspect Garrett Oneal Jones Arencibia, 23, of New Brockton, for first-degree kidnapping and attempted murder.

This is an active investigation, and no further information will be available at this time.

The EPD's Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is conducting this investigation and asks that anyone with information regarding this crime contact the EPD at (334) 347-2222 or leave a tip at www.enterprisepd.com.
