The Enterprise Police Department is addressing a recent social media post about an alleged child kidnapping.

According to Public Information Officer Cpt. Michael Moore, the social media post described a "crime of attempted kidnapping that supposedly occurred at the Enterprise Walmart Supercenter."

The alleged kidnapping, Moore said, was never reported to the police department or Walmart. He said "an actual victim" has not been identified, leading police to question the legitimacy of the offense.

"During the investigation of this post, no evidence has been discovered that would indicate that this crime ever occurred," Moore state in a press release.

Please contact the EPD with any information on this alleged crime at (334) 347-2222.
