A single-vehicle crash at 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, has claimed the life of a Jack man.
Edward Herschell Tidwell, 51, was killed when the 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe he was driving left the roadway and overturned, according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Trooper Kevin Cook.
Tidwell, who was not using a seatbelt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene by Coffee County Coroner Robert Preachers, Cook said. The crash occurred on Coffee County 209 south of Alabama 167.
Although the circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation, preliminary investigation indicates alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
