A man has been taken into custody after citizens in the Basin area spotted an individual wanted by law enforcement.
According to Chief Deputy Ronnie Whitworth, on Sunday, Jan. 13, the Coffee County Sheriff's Office received several complaints from the Basin area that a subject that has been wanted for approximately a week had been seen.
Whitworth said law enforcement intensified the search on Sunday and Sunday night.
After multiple sightings on Monday, the search was narrowed to a specific area where Sheriff's Deputy K-9 picked up a scent, Whitworth said, stating the K-9 was deployed into a wooded area tracking the suspect.
He said the K-9 located Gauge Hunter Hudson, 21, in a barn. Hudson was only wearing a shirt, jacket and underwear, and he did not have any pants or shoes on at the time he was taken into custody, Whitworth said.
Hudson had been out in the cold and wet weather overnight. He was transported to Medical Center Enterprise, treated and released to the Coffee County Jail, Whitworth said.
Hudson was arrested on five felony warrants, and one misdemeanor warrant.
