Students attending Club STEAM Powered, a program that introduces students to various subjects in science, technology, engineering, art and math, learned more about famous scientists, their accomplishments and teamwork during its Feb. 13 meeting.
During its February meeting, students were quizzed on the identities of famous scientists, including James Watson, Francis Crick, Marie Curie and more.
They also learned more about the scientific accomplishments of these scientists, such as discovering radium and the double helix structure of DNA.
An intense game of Clue also taught students how to use deduction, questioning and teamwork to solve a problem, specifically finding that the culprit was Mr. Plum in the garage with the candlestick.
Finally, the students celebrated Valentine’s Day a little early by making sweet treats, such as homemade whipped cream.
Club STEAM Powered will meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 3:30 p.m. Each meeting will focus on fun, slimy and educational experiments.
