An Ozark woman had been arrested in connection with the Dec. 3 murder of a Dale County man.

Celeste Conroy, 42, is charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of Ricky Dease, according to Dale County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Mason Bynum.

Ricky Dease, 47, was found dead in his home on Highway 231 North in Dale County after 2 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, according to Bynum.

Bynum said that at approximately 2:17 a.m. the Ozark-Dale County E911 Center dispatched deputies to the 10000 block of Highway 231 North in reference to a firearm assault.

“Upon arrival deputies located a deceased victim inside the residence,” Bynum said. “Based on our investigation Dease resided at the residence where the incident took place.

“With assistance from the Dothan Police Department we have located a person of interest and are in the process of interviewing and investigating that individual,” Bynum said. “This is an ongoing homicide investigation so limited information will be released to protect the integrity of the case.

“We do anticipate charges to be filed once we have compiled all of our findings and present them to the Dale County District Attorney’s Office,” Bynum added.

Bynum said that an additional arrest is expected in connection with the murder.

Bond for Conroy was set at $50,000 by Dale County District Judge Stan Garner.
