A 43-year-old Daleville man was arrested Dec. 23 after police allegedly found a bag of cocaine tied to his private parts.
Charles Wayne Williams was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
According to Daleville police investigator Sgt. Jason Grantham, Williams was pulled over by officers Noah Suiter and Chris Blocker at about 4 p.m. for failure to signal his intentions to turn on South Daleville Avenue.
After approaching the suspect’s vehicle, officers ran Williams’ information and learned he was driving without insurance and a suspended driver’s license.
Williams was issued three citations for his traffic infractions, and was asked to step out of the vehicle to sign the citations.
Upon exiting the vehicle, Grantham said officers performed a pat down and felt an unidentifiable object between Williams’ legs.
The unidentifiable object was approximately 27.9 grams of cocaine tied to his private parts.
Shortly after, officers searched the suspect’s vehicle for general inventory and found approximately $4,842 in cash inside the front console between the two front seats.
Williams was booked into the Dale County Jail and released the same day after posting a $15,000 bond.
