Paul Revere Davis, 86, of Chancellor, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Southeast Health.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 19, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Don Tew and Rev. Dave Hingson officiating. Burial will follow at El Bethel Baptist Church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 10 a.m.
Paul was born on Dec, 9, 1934 in Dekalb County, to the late George Bush and Bessie York Davis. Paul attended school in Ider. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1955 and served on the USS Kearsarge. He also served with the Military Air Transport (MAT) and was stationed at Moffitt Field, Calif. Paul moved to Coffee County in 1959 and was employed at Fort Rucker as an aviation electrician. He received many accommodations for his flexibility in his duty and he worked on all the fields at Fort Rucker. He later retired from Fort Rucker after many years of dedicated service. Paul later moved to Geneva County in 1963 where he was an active member of El Bethel Baptist Church and served in many positions with love.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by many siblings.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Charlotte S. Davis of Chancellor; one daughter, Rita Brown Gomez; one son, Don Davis; five grandchildren, Brandy S. Peeples (Joe), James O’Neal Brown, Brandon L. Davis (Katie), Bradford Paul Davis (Catherine) and Jeremy Brock Davis (Ashley); 12 great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
