Former Enterprise Wildcat Brendan Donovan hit a grand slam Thursday night to right-center field in the top of the seventh inning to put the St. Louis Cardinals ahead of the San Diego Padres 5-3. The Cardinals went on to win 5-4 after the rookie recorded the first grand slam of his career.
Donovan is having a stellar year with the Cardinals playing six different positions for the club as a do-it-all utility player. He currently has five home runs on the season and has a .279 batting average. St. Louis is leading the NL Central division by 7.5 games and is looking to return to the playoffs.
