EHS Tennis

The Enterprise Wildcats and Lady Cats tennis teams traveled to Decatur on April 21-22 to compete in the Class 7A State Tournament.

The Wildcats finished in a tie for 10th place, while the Lady Cats tied for seventh place in the tournament.

Gage Anderson led things off for the Wildcats and fell 6-0 and 6-2 to Mountain Brook. Alexander Nelson followed that up with a 6-0 and 6-3 loss to Huntsville.

Evan Stewart then fell 6-0 in both sets against Vestavia Hills and Mitchell Carr fell 6-4 in both sets against a McGill-Toolen player.

Connor Morris fell 6-0 in both sets against Vestavia Hills and Cameron Emerson closed out singles action with a pair of 6-0 losses to Huntsville.

In doubles action, Nelson and Anderson fell 6-0 and 6-1 to a Huntsville tandem, while both the duo of Stewart and Carr and the duo of Morriss and Emerson dropped both of their sets 6-0 and 6-1.

Enterprise’s Mikaela Grubb earned a bye in the first round but then fell 6-4 and 6-1 in the quarterfinals to a Mountain Brook player.

Tori Ammons fell 6-0 and 6-1 to Fairhope, while Mary Rives Marques and Riley Stewart were both swept 6-0 in each of their sets. Marques faced a Vestavia Hills player and Stewart battled a Mountain Brook player.

Alexis Sanders fell 6-1 and 6-0 to Mountain Brook and Grace Heim fell 6-0 in btoh sets to Mountain Brook.

In doubles action, Grubb and Marques lost 6-2 and 6-0 to Mountain Brook, while both the duo of Ammons and Sanders and the duo of Stewart and Heim fell 6-1 in each set against Mountain Brook and Fairhope.
