Senior Enterprise High School golfer Emilia Smith earned a spot in the 71st Annual U.S. Girls Junior Champions recently.

Smith competed in a qualifying tournament in Scottsboro on June 28 with the top two golfers headed to Wisconsin for the national tournament.

Smith tied with Auburn’s Morgan Jones for second place as both girls shot a 70 during the day. The two then battled it out in a playoff with Smith coming out on top and moving on to the national tournament.

On June 18 fellow senior EHS golfer Ashley-Sinclair Curtis also earned a spot in the 44th Annual Junior PGA Championship in Hartford, Conn., after winning a qualifying tournament in Spanish Fort.

Curtis will face national competition at the Junior PGA’s, which takes place July 9-12.
