The final game of the season for Enterprise’s JV football squad was a dominant one as the Wildcats smothered the Auburn JV Tigers by a score of 46-13 at home on Monday, Oct. 7.

The JV Wildcats put together an eye-popping 450-yard rushing performance and held Auburn to just 261 total yards in the win.

Enterprise wasted no time in jumping out ahead of Auburn as quarterback Cam Cowart scored on a 4-yard touchdown run with 5:55 left in the first quarter. Zy’Air Boyd cashed in the two-point conversion and Enterprise led 8-0.

After an Auburn three-and-out, Enterprise marched right back down the field with Cowart scoring on a 2-yard touchdown run with 57 seconds remaining. Cowart bulled his way into the end zone for the two-point conversion and Enterprise extended its lead to 16-0.

Auburn went three-and-out again as the second quarter began and once again Enterprise drove right back down the field. Running back Jordan Tacey scored on a 2-yard touchdown run with 3:54 left and the two-point try failed as Enterprise led 22-0.

Auburn finally showed some signs of life on offense with a 10-play scoring drive that was capped off by a 37-yard touchdown pass. The PAT cut Enterprise’s lead to 22-7 with 1:19 remaining in the opening half.

Auburn showed that it wasn’t quite ready to go home just yet as the Tigers opened up the second half with a 65-yard touchdown run on the very first play. The PAT failed and Enterprise led 30-13 with 7:48 remaining in the period.

A 41-yard scamper by Boyd set Enterprise up inside the Auburn 5-yard line, and two plays later Cowart scored his third touchdown run on a 4-yard plunge with 6:11 left in the third quarter. Tacey converted the two-point try and Enterprise led 38-13.

Auburn drove into Enterprise territory again but turned the ball over on downs. Boyd then exploded through the Tiger defense for a 60-yard touchdown run only for the play to get called back due to a holding penalty.

The Wildcats fumbled on the next play and gave Auburn life again in Enterprise territory.

Auburn drove down to the Enterprise 14-yard line but couldn’t get any closer as the Wildcats forced a turnover on downs to close out the third quarter.

Cowart was intercepted on his first pass in the fourth quarter but Enterprise linebacker Kenneth Leib scooped up an Auburn fumble and rumbled 36 yards down to the Auburn 39-yard line.

Two plays later, Tacey scored on a 24-yard touchdown run with 4:05 remaining. The Wildcats converted the two-point try and led 46-13.
