Lady Cats

Addy Thompson (11) and the Enterprise Lady Cats competed in Mobile’s Battle of Old Shell Road this past weekend.

The Enterprise Lady Cats (21-11) volleyball team hit the road on Oct. 5 to take part in the Battle of Old Shell Road Tournament in Mobile and ended up making it to the semifinals.

Enterprise started off pool play with a 2-1 record with wins over Alma Bryant and Bayshore Christian – along with a loss to Spanish Fort – to move on to the Gold Bracket of the tournament.

In the quarterfinals, Enterprise swept Gulf Shores 2-0 with 25-17 and 25-20 wins in the two sets.

That meant the Lady Cats would rematch with Spanish Fort in the semifinals. In pool play, Spanish Fort swept Enterprise 2-0 and did the same in the semifinals as Spanish Fort won both sets 25-16 and 25-20.

Enterprise was led in the tournament by senior Morgan Harrelson with eight aces, 14 kills, 33 digs and 42 assists. Ali Wiggins pitched in with two aces, 43 kills, 33 digs and 27 assists, as well.

Mya Carter had two aces, 16 kills and seven blocks.

Enterprise will get a much-needed week off this week before traveling to Montgomery to face off against Montgomery Academy on Oct. 15.
