The Enterprise Wildcats traveled to Birmingham and dropped a pair of games with Hoover and defeated Ramsay over the weekend.
The Wildcats fell to Hoover 11-7 on March 13 to start the series of games. Enterprise picked up just four hits as a team in the loss with Parker Sessions, Colin Marsh, Hunter Sumrall and Logan McCarthy earning one hit each.
Sessions, Marsh, Sumrall, Payton Easterling, Matthew Hutson, Drew Shiver and Dylan Dalrymple scored one run each. Sumrall also had two RBIs.
McCain Sieving took the loss on the mound striking out two batters and giving up three hits with seven runs in two innings, while Logan Fleming struck out four batters along with giving up four hits and four runs in four innings pitched.
On March 14, Enterprise picked up a 9-4 win over Ramsay after scoring four runs in the final two innings.
Enterprise jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning after Easterling drove Marsh home with a ground ball single into left field and then Jack Williams singled on a fly ball to drive Connor Couch home and Drew Williams scored after stealing home.
Ramsay cut the lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the first inning but Enterprise responded with two more runs in the second inning.
Jackson Lessman scored on a wild pitch and Drew Williams scored when Sumrall drove him in on a ground ball single to extend the Wildcat lead to 5-1.
In the bottom of the third inning, Ramsay cut the lead to 5-2 and then 5-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning.
In the top of the sixth, Noah Loy singled on a line drive into center field to drive Owen Burrow home to extend the lead to 6-3. Enterprise took a 7-3 lead when Drew Williams drove Lessman home on a ground out. The Wildcats further extended their lead to 8-3 when Marsh drove Loy home on a ground ball single into left field.
In the top of the seventh, Garrett Barefoot grounded out but drove Couch home in the process to stretch the lead to 9-3.
In the bottom of the seventh, Ramsay scored one run but couldn’t get any closer as Enterprise held on for a 9-4 win.
Marsh went 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and a run as the Wildcats picked up 10 hits as a team.
Drew Williams pitched five innings and struck out 10 batters, while giving up four hits and three runs. Austin Acreman struck out four batters and gave up one run with no hits in two innings on the mound. Of Drew Williams’ 93 pitches, 55 were strikes.
Later on March 14, Enterprise fell to Hoover again 12-3.
Hutson, Lessman and Sumrall earned one hit each, while Sumrall and Kobe Williams were walked once each. Sessions, Couch and Cole Hooper scored one run each.
Trey Cavanaugh pitched four innings and struck out two batters, while giving up five hits and five runs in four innings. Lane Danford gave up two hits and three runs in two innings. Dalrymple gave up two hits and four runs in one inning on the mound.
