Both the Enterprise High School and New Brockton High School cross country teams hit the road for meets last week with New Brockton competing on Oct. 3 and Enterprise on Oct. 5.
New Brockton traveled to Opp on Oct. 3 to compete in the Bobcat Invitational, while Enterprise competed at the Jesse Owens Classic in Oakville.
New Brockton’s Alex Garrison took home a third place finish in the boys 5,000-meter run, while teammate Gabe Eagan also came in with a No. 13 finish.
In the boys’ two-mile run, John Vernon earned a seventh place finish, while Daniel Hoover finished in eighth place for New Brockton.
In the girls’ two-mile run, Hanna Wilson finished in 13th place.
Enterprise had multiple runners finish in the top 100 of a meet that featured more than 200 teams.
Stella Retherford came in at No. 17 for Enterprise, while Evelyn Holmes-Smith finished at No. 22 and Emma McCrea finished at No. 25. Samantha Segura (55), Natalie Warner (56), Talia de Hoyos (67), Kylie Moczynski (79) and Madisen James (80) all also finished among the top 100 runners in the girls’ 5,000-meter run.
For the boys, Tyler Rathburn (95), Henry Templin (96) and Brett Tessay (97) also finished in the top 100 of the boys 5,000-meter run.
On Oct. 12, Enterprise will compete in the Panther Invitational in Smiths Station, while New Brockton next competes in the 23rd Annual Tiger Classic in Auburn on Oct. 19. Enterprise will also compete in the Tiger Classic.
