The New Brockton Lady Gamecocks traveled to Elba on Sept. 10 and picked up a 3-1 win on the road.

New Brockton won the first set 25-11 but Elba bounced back to tie things up with a 25-22 win in the second set before New Brockton ran away with the match earning 25-13 and 26-24 wins in the next two sets.

The Lady Gamecocks were led by Anna Clark with 12 kills and six aces, while Shelby Hobbs earned 41 digs in the win. Justie Ellis added 15 assists.

On Sept. 8, New Brockton lost a back-and-fourth matchup with Pike County at home that went to a fifth set. After the Lady Gamecocks earned a 25-11 win in the first set, Pike County answered with a 25-16 win in the second. New Brockton bounced back to take the third set 25-12 and Pike County answered with a 25-17 win in the fourth. In the fifth and final set, New Brockton managed to secure the 15-10 win.

Hobbs had another big night with 32 digs, while Clark had 11 kills and Kiersten Sunday had 25 aces. Ellis also had 22 aces and 16 assists in the win.

The JV Lady Gamecocks also picked up a 2-0 win against Pike County, taking the first set 25-5 and the second set 25-4.
