The Enterprise Wildcats captured their second tournament championship of the season last week winning the Florala Christmas Tournament over host team Florala on Dec. 19.

The Wildcats dominated their three games during the tournament with wins over Geneva, Greenville and Florala and did so by shooting 54 percent from the field during the tournament, while holding their opponents to just 31 percent shooting.

Enterprise opened up the tournament with a 76-28 win over Geneva in the first round in a game that Enterprise never trailed in.

The Wildcats led 23-7 going into the second quarter and that lead ballooned to 40-13 at halftime. Enterprise again outscored Geneva 36-15 in the second half to earn the dominant win.

The Wildcats forced 30 turnovers against Geneva and scored a season-high 52 points in the paint along with outrebounding the Panthers 33-23.

Junior Elijah Terry led Enterprise with 16 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals in the opening round, while junior Quentin Hayes scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds.

Senior Jay Sconiers added 10 points and freshman Keion Dunlap scored 10 points with five rebounds and five steals. Senior Jalen Cunningham scored three points and had seven steals on defense with three assists.

Greenville gave the Wildcats their toughest test of the tournament in the semifinals but the Wildcats still picked up a 63-55 win.

Enterprise led 16-13 in the first quarter and stretched that lead out to 30-20 at halftime. Enterprise outscored Greenville 16-12 in the third quarter to take a 46-32 lead into the final period.

Greenville outscored Enterprise in the fourth quarter 23-17 but it wasn’t enough as Enterprise earned its win to the finals.

The Wildcats outrebounded Greenville 36-32 and scored 30 points off 21 Greenville turnovers.

Hayes filled up the stat sheet against Greenville with 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists and five steals. Junior Marshawn Fitzpatrick added 13 points, while Terry scored 11 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished two assists. Senior Josh McCray chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.

The Wildcats drilled Florala 71-33 in the championship game dominating from start to finish. Enterprise led 28-10 in the first quarter and 44-16 at halftime. Enterprise outscored Florala 20-14 in the third quarter and 7-3 in the fourth quarter enroute to the tournament crown.

Enterprise outrebounded Florala 38-22 and forced 19 turnovers. Hayes had another big night with 17 points and eight rebounds as nine of Enterprise’s 10 varsity players scored.

Terry added eight points and six rebounds, while senior Jared Smith scored nine points and sophomore Jordan Hines scored eight points with eight rebounds and two steals.

The Wildcats followed up the tournament crown with a 69-45 win over Georgiana at home on Dec. 21 before taking a break for Christmas.

Enterprise and Georgiana battled back-and-forth in the first quarter with the Wildcats taking an 11-8 lead into the second period.

Enterprise took control in the second quarter leading 34-18 at halftime. Enterprise kept the pressure on for the remainder of the game coming away with the 69-45 win.

Enterprise forced 26 turnovers and scored 18 points off those turnovers in the win.

Terry led the Wildcats with 15 points, four rebounds and two steals, while Smith added 10 points, four rebounds and four assists. Fitzpatrick also chipped in with 11 points.
