Enterprise’s Zach McFarland takes down a Baker wrestler.

The Enterprise wrestling team hosted Charles Henderson and Baker on Tuesday, Jan. 28, for the final home match of the season.

Enterprise lost the first showdown with Baker by a score of 45-33 but bounced back with a 54-12 win over Charles Henderson to follow.

Against Baker, Xavier Torres picked up the first on-the-mat win of the dual with a pin over Baker’s Gabriel Randolph in a 152-pound matchup.

Nathan Schmidt gave Enterprise another win at 160 pounds over Baker’s Jaden Jackson by disqualification.

Colby Clark continued his stellar second half of the season with a pin on Baker’s Ben Bazzell at 195 pounds.

Dakotah Barber also picked up a pin over Baker’s Eriten Kwizera at 285 pounds. Enterprise closed out with Cody Kirk picking up a pinfall on Baker’s Ray Sears in the 106-pound division and EHS leader Zach McFarland earning an 11-6 decision over Baker’s Brantley Odom at 120 pounds.

Against Charles Henderson, Enterprise went 7-2 in on-the-mat showdowns and also picked up three forfeit wins. There were also two double forfeits.

Kenneth Leib earned a 14-10 decision over Charles Henderson at 152 pounds, while Samuel Mason pinned Charles Henderson’s Todrick Burks at 170 pounds.

Colby Clark won a 7-5 decision over Charles Henderson’s Bailey Nixon at 220 pounds and barber pinned Charles Henderson’s Sam Knox at 285 pounds.

Layton Smith pinned Charles Henderson’s Sawyer Gross at 113 pounds and Ashley Mayse knocked off Charles Henderson’s Brayden Nowling by pinfall at 113 pounds.

At 138 pounds, Terrance Brown earned a pinfall over Charles Henderson’s Nick Slobodchikoff.

Torres (160 pounds), Loriah Castro (132 pounds) and David Best (120 pounds) earned forfeit victories for EHS.

EHS traveled to Dothan on Jan. 30 for the final regular season of the year against Houston Academy and came out on top 52-24.

Enterprise and Houston Academy actually tied 2-2 in on-the-mat matches, but Houston Academy also forfeited seven matches to the Wildcats, while Enterprise lost two to forfeit. There was also one double forfeit.

Kirk earned a pinfall win over Trip Rane of Houston Academy at 106 pounds and McFarland earned a 10-0 decision over Kennan Beaver of Houston Academy at 113 pounds.

Brendan Clark Clark fell to Houston Academy’s Lucius Renshaw at 126 pounds by pinfall and Brown lost by pinfall to Houston Academy’s Jack Jones at 132 pounds.

Enterprise’s Mayse (120 pounds), Torres (152 pounds), Schmidt (160 pounds), Mason (170 pounds), Colby Clark (195 pounds), Tarlavsky (220 pounds) and Barber (285 pounds) each won via forfeit.

Enterprise will head to Montgomery on Feb. 7 for Super Sectionals with members of the Wildcats hoping to make it to the State Tournament later in the month.
