The Enterprise baseball team hit the diamond for the first time since the close of the 2019 season last week to hold its annual team tryouts.
After a week of tryouts, Enterprise coach Lee Hyde was excited about what he saw on the field with returning players and new faces.
“It went well,” Hyde said of tryouts. “We got a lot of fresh faces in the program with some of the younger kids, and we saw some guys that can hopefully help us (next year).”
The Wildcats won’t waste any time in the summer as summer workouts officially begin on June 5 and EHS will head to Troy University on June 10-11 for a team camp.
“At the varsity level we have a lot of (pitchers) coming back, which is good,” Hyde said. “That’s what we didn’t have last year as far as experience. We are going to be replacing a lot of position guys, though.
“Our entire outfield were seniors and a number of guys we used in the infield were, too. We have to figure out what we’re doing in the outfield and replace some of those senior (hitters) during the offseason.”
