Dear Editor:

Once again the merchants and our neighbors doing business in the Wiregrass have shown their generosity and support for the Luncheon Pilot Club of Enterprise’s annual fund raiser, Radio Day. We certainly appreciate the support. All funds raised will be used to fund several projects in the Wiregrass area.

Project Lifesaver, where we partner with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, is a special project. We buy locator bracelets to be placed on individuals who have a tendency to wander. We also purchase the tracking materials to correspond with the bracelets. The Coffee County Sheriff’s Department, under the Project Lifesaver direction of Deputy Tom Iten, completes the physical contact with the patients and their caregivers.

Other projects we are proud to participate in and support include the Walk to End Alzheimers, Habitat for Humanity, Royal Family Kids Camp, Wiregrass Wounded Veterans, Special Olympics, Traumatic Brain Injury Camps, Relay for Life, Banana Bingo at the nursing home and a special needs Christmas Party cosponsored by the Rotary Club.

The Luncheon Pilot Club of Enterprise would like to express our sincere appreciation to WVVL-FM, Weevil 101 radio station, which allowed us to use its facility to broadcast our sponsor ads on Feb. 23. A special thanks to our DJ Darrell Holderfield and his wife Cheri.
