Peanuts were the main attraction Sept. 22 at the Enterprise Farmers Market. Hundreds of people visited the farmers market to enjoy the peanut-themed event, which included a peanut panel discussion, cake walk, peanut painting and peanut relay games. Local vendors were also open for business selling produce and other goods. In Alabama, more than 400 million pounds of peanuts are produced annually, and peanuts are one of the top 10 agricultural commodities in the state.
