The Coffee County Extension Office hosted a Master Gardeners class this fall where participants completed fifty hours of instruction.
Participants learned about subjects like fruit production, vegetables, insects, soils, plant diseases, landscape design, weed control, care and maintenance of ornamentals, plant propagation and more.
After completing the coursework, class members are required to give 50 hours of volunteer service to be certified as Master Gardeners.
Volunteer hours can be received through the Extension Office and their communities through beautification projects, horticulture workshops and demonstrations, helping neighborhood schools and churches.
