Food Network television personality and award winning author Alton Brown will be the first live speaker broadcast this semester for a group of student leaders at Enterprise State Community College.

The National Society of Leadership and Success at ESCC sponsors a live speaker broadcast three times a semester.

"It is one of the requirements for membership in the organization," George Scott, ESCC faculty member said.

Brown's first book, "I am Just Here for the Food," won a 2003 James Beard award. His now-ended signature Food Network show, "Good Eats," won him a coveted Peabody Award in 2007 for excellence in broadcast news, education and entertainment. He is currently touring the country to promote his latest book "Good Eats 3," which recaps the show's 165th to 249th episodes.

The event is open to the public.

The broadcast will be at 6 p.m., Oct. 4, in Talmadge Hall on the Enterprise campus.
