Enterprise resident John Mitchell was appointed to the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees on April 2, according to an ACCS release.
Mitchell replaces Ron Fantroy as the District 2 representative and will serve a four-year term.
“It is an honor and a privilege to represent such a forward-moving body of leadership, faculty and staff members who believe in what they do each and every day for Alabama,” Mitchell said. “It is evident where I’m from in the Wiregrass, and throughout Alabama, that the efforts of the Alabama Community College System have a positive impact on our state. I am eager to be a part of this important work.”
Governor Kay Ivey and the Alabama Senate also reconfirmed three returning board members: Milton Davis, Blake McAnally and Matthew Woods.
“At the Alabama Community College System, we are laser focused on providing every Alabamian with the tools they need to be competitive in today’s economy,” said ACCS Chancellor Jimmy Baker. “With a combined 13 decades of experience in business and industry, these Board Members understand the importance of high quality, affordable education and training to Alabama’s economy. I am confident that with the leadership of our Board we will continue to make great strides in improving outcomes for our state.”
