The Enterprise Police Department has made an arrest in the June 29, shooting investigation that occurred at Untouchables Barber Shop. EPD Officers arrested Shawntareis Dakuan Thompson on July 3, at 10 a.m. for 1st degree assault.
The arrest came after family members of Thompson made arrangements with Mayor William “Bill” Cooper to turn himself in. Thompson surrendered himself at the Enterprise Police Department at City Hall with the mayor present.
At 3:15 p.m. Monday, June 29, the EPD responded to a fight in progress at Untouchables Barber Shop located at 913 Rucker Blvd., in Enterprise. Upon arrival, officers discovered a shooting had occurred during a fight and a victim was located in a nearby business with two gunshot wounds.
The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers. EPD detectives identified the suspect as Shawntareis Dakuan Thompson, 23, of Enterprise and an arrest warrant was obtained for 1stdegree assault.
Thompson was transported to the Coffee County Jail after his arrest Friday morning.
