The Enterprise City Council Chambers were filled with concerned residents, June 25, during a special called meeting of the Enterprise City Council.

The council convened to make an appointment to the Enterprise City School Board to replace board member Joe Paul Stewart, who recently resigned during a June 19 school board meeting.

Also during that school board meeting, the board accepted the resignation of its board attorney J.P. Sawyer and its superintendent Dr. Aaron Milner, who accepted the same position with the Saraland City School System.

During the council meeting, council president William Cooper said several names were suggested to the council for appointment to the school board, but the council unanimously agreed to appoint Doug Vickers.

Vickers has served on the school board previously from 2000-2005.

Cooper said the city would be having a regularly scheduled meeting July 2, at 6 p.m., at city hall.

"Certainly, if any of you would like to speak at our regular meeting, please feel free to do so," Cooper said, addressing the room.

The Enterprise City School Board will be meet for its regularly scheduled meeting tonight, June 25, at 6 p.m., in its central office on Hutchinson Street.
