If you drive on Main Street in New Brockton, you can see some blooms coming out on a few of the street's corners.
The town's beautification committee has been working on planting flowers in four corner spots on Main Street. Three have been completed, while work is continuing on the fourth.
"(We planted flowers) to show the pride in the town and to be pleasing to other people that drive by," committee member Kathy Holley said. "(We did it) to make it nice, even for the walkers in the evening now that it's gotten so hot."
The corners showcase a variety of flowers and plants, including marigolds, topiaries, encore azaleas, potato vines and more.
Each area has also been fitted with a solar light. Holley said the lights, which were bought with the help of the Revitalization Committee, were a more economical choice of lighting for the areas.
