The Enterprise Fire Department responded to a call June 29 of a fire at the Sessions Company, Inc. peanut processing facility on Main Street at about 10:20 a.m.

When fire officials arrived on the scene, a building at the plant had visible flames coming from it.

Enterprise Fire Chief Byron Herring said the fire appeared to begin near some oil residue inside the factory. Sessions employees had already begun extinguishing flames from inside the plant using the plant’s fire suppression system.

Herring said firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames by using a new truck that has a special foam capability for fighting industrial chemical fires of this nature.

Herring said there was no apparent fire damage to the building at this time.
