Col. (Ret.) Everette and Kay Roper celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a two week trip to the Holy Land, traveling throughout Israel and Jordan.

The Ropers were married Jan. 25, 1969, at First Baptist Church in DeRidder, La. Everette is a 30 year Army veteran and was Project Manager for Flight School XXI Simulations, Daleville. Kay is a retired educator and both are avid LSU fans.

The Ropers have three children, Rana and Col. Rob Holcek of Fort Benning, Ga., Karyn and Maj. Jeff Shelnutt of Fort Sam Houston, Texas and Maj. Jake and Jamie Roper of Fort Shafter, Hawaii. God has also blessed them with seven beautiful grandchildren.
