New Brockton High School will celebrate homecoming week from Monday, Sept. 9 through Friday, Sept. 13.
The theme this year is “The Greatest Show,” which is inspired by the movie “The Greatest Showman.”
The dress up days throughout the week will follow this theme with “Tip Your Top Hat Day,” on Monday, “Clowning Around” on Tuesday, “Everyone Has an Act” on Wednesday, “Twinning” on Thursday and “Spirit Day” on the Friday of the game.
Also on Friday, Sept. 13, the NBHS homecoming queen will be crowned at 9 a.m. in the NBHS gym with the pep rally following the coronation.
The 2019 Homecoming Court is freshman attendant Madison Jones, sophomore attendant Rexanna Jackson, junior attendants Brittany Taylor and Madisen Weems and senior attendants Destiny Hataway, Mary Beth Smith and Jayley Teele.
The annual homecoming parade will take place at 2 p.m. on Sept. 13, which will start at NBHS, make its way downtown and then back to the school.
NBHS Media Specialist Lori Martin said she’s excited for this year’s homecoming.
“This is my 20th homecoming that I’ve been in charge of,” Martin said. “It’s always a really fun time for the community and school to come together to celebrate New Brockton. Homecoming is probably one of the two biggest traditions at the school.”
The New Brockton Gamecocks will take the field at 7 p.m. against Central Hayneville to cap off the night.
