Woman arrested in vehicle theft

Angela Sweet

An Enterprise woman was arrested and charged with first degree theft of property and third degree burglary, according Level Plains Police Chief Ivan Keith Gray.

Gray said that on or about Sept. 27, the victim left their business in the 4700 Block of Rucker Boulevard. When the victim returned on Oct. 5, their black 1995 Chevrolet Corvette was missing and items had been moved around inside the business “as if someone was squatting there,” according to Gray.

The victim was able to get a suspect description from witnesses, one of which reportedly saw the suspect washing the victim’s car at their place of business, according to Gray.

He said that during the investigation on Oct. 5, the suspect returned to the scene driving the missing vehicle.

Level Plains Police officers then arrested and charged Angela Sweet, 38, of Enterprise with first degree theft of property and third degree burglary, according to Gray.

Sweet was taken to the Dale County Jail, and has since bonded out.
