Enterprise State Community College’s Student Support Services Student Advisory Board held an 80s movie night food drive for the school’s blessings box on Nov. 14.

For a food item or cash donation students could enjoy “Beverly Hills Cop” in the multipurpose room with complimentary popcorn.

The blessings box, which is located in the Student Center on campus, was created this past summer by the SSS SAB.

The blessings box is filled with food items such as ramen noodles, canned soups, granola bars, fruit snacks and other snack items as well as some clothing and hygiene items.

The purpose of the box is to help those ESCC students who may suffer from not being able to afford food or those kinds of items.

“It’s something nice to help out the students,” SSS SAB member Brandon Duckworth said. “We’re always looking for ways to help out the community and our students that go here and it’s another way to do that.”

The board continued its drive for clothing, personal and food items for the box throughout the entire month of November.

All monetary donations that were collected went to buying food for the box.
