Thurman earns Extra Mile Award

Enterprise Public Works employee Eddie Thurman was presented the Extra Mile Award by Enterprise Mayor William “Bill” Cooper and Interim Public Works Director Shannon Roberts at the Enterprise City Council meeting Jan. 21. Thurman was nominated for the award by a citizen in appreciation of a December 2019 incident during which he helped an elderly resident retrieve lost car keys. “He was performing his job duties of sweeping the streets around the city when an elderly resident flagged him down. He stopped his truck and was able to retrieve the (misplaced) keys for her,” Cooper said during the presentation. “Eddie, the city council and I commend you on your outstanding abilities and remarkable attention that you give to our citizens and your willingness to go out of your way to help them. We are proud of having such outstanding individuals representing our Public Works Department.” From left, are Thurman, Cooper and Roberts.
