Hurricane Dorian has ‘very low’ chance of impacting the area

Coffee County has a “very low” chance of being affected by Hurricane Dorian, according to an updated release by the Coffee County EMA.

The chance for the area to be affected by tropical storm force winds remains at a less than five percent chance, and the area is not expected to receive any rain from the storm, according to the release.

Hurricane Dorian has been downgraded to a Category 4 hurricane with winds at 150 mph, according to the release.

It is currently over the Bahamas and moving at 1 mph. It is expected to get close to Florida’s east coast late night on Sept. 2, according to the release.

Watches and warnings have now been coastal Georgia, according to the release.
