OPD seeks public's help

The Ozark Police Department is asking the public’s help in connection with a shooting that occurred near the area of Briar Hill Court in Ozark Dec. 1.

According to OPD Chief Marlos Walker, two men were injured during the altercation which occurred at approximately 1:34 a.m.

Walker said that one man was taken by Ozark EMS to Dale Medical Center with “multiple serious life-threatening” gunshot wounds.

A second man, who received non life-threatening injuries during the altercation, was transported to Dale Medical Center by a passenger vehicle prior to law enforcement’s arrival on the scene.

Both injured men have been transported to Southeast Health in Dothan.

Walker said witnesses told officers that the shooting stemmed from a physical altercation between multiple people during a party.

Investigators recovered physical evidence from the scene and are currently interviewing witnesses, according to Walker.
