EPD investigating unattended death

The Enterprise Police Department has started a death investigation after a body was discovered on Sept. 30, according to a press release from EPD Public Information Lt. Billy Haglund.

At 8 p.m. on Sept. 30, EPD officers responded a call in the 4000 Block on County Road 156 after a property owner discovered a vehicle with a dead body in the driver’s seat, according to the release.

The body will be transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery due to its state of decomposition, according to the release.

A positive identification of the body can’t be made at this time and the name of the deceased will not be released until next of kin are notified, according to the release.

EPD detectives are currently in early stages of the investigation and no further information will be released, according to the release.
