New Brockton High School Gamecock Representatives donated blankets and socks to the New Brockton Senior Center on Dec. 18.

The donation came after the Gamecock Representatives held a blanket and socks drive for their Christmas service project.

A couple of the representatives then made the walk to the Senior Center to personally drop off the items collected.

“They (the Gamecock Representatives) serve as wonderful leaders for their peers, always demonstrating community service and outstanding character,” said NBHS Guidance Counselor Valerie Bourne.

NBHS wasn’t the only school showing support for the seniors in New Brockton. First graders from New Brockton Elementary School had also donated fruit baskets they made to the Senior Center the week before.

“We are very blessed that the elementary and high schools donated to our seniors,” said New Brockton Senior Center Director Faye Richardson. “Our seniors will be so happy to receive them; we really appreciate it.”
