New Brockton teen killed in four-vehicle accident

Anthony Miquel Bishop is being held in Houston County Jail charged with DUI.

A four-vehicle crash at approximately 4 p.m. Monday, July 6, has claimed the life of a Coffee County teen.

A 15-year-old female from New Brockton was killed when the 2015 Nissan Altima she was a passenger in was struck from behind by a 2010 Ford F150 driven by Anthony Miquel Bishop, 55, of Enterprise, according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Trooper Sgt. Michael Simmons.

Simmons said two additional vehicles were damaged in the crash. Three occupants of the Nissan and the driver of the Ford F150 were transported to Flowers Hospital.

Simmons said one passenger in the Nissan remains in critical condition at Flowers Hospital.

Bishop was released from the hospital and has been arrested for driving under the influence, Simmons said. “Additional charges are pending.”

The crash occurred on US 84 at the intersection of State Highway 123, eight miles west of Dothan. Nothing further information is available as ALEA State Troopers continue to investigate, Simmons said.
