A $150,000 bond has been set for a man charged with murder in connection with a Dec. 22, 2019 shooting at the Daleville Lounge on Daleville Avenue in Enterprise.
Coffee County District Judge Josh Wilson set bond for Emmanuel “Mannie” Key who has been in Coffee County Jail on no bond since his capture by United States Marshalls in Midland City on Jan. 14.
Key was arrested in connection with the shooting death of Stevie Lamaric Franklin, 42, of Troy who succumbed to his gunshot injuries at a hospital a short time after arriving there after 2 a.m. Sunday Dec. 22.
According to Enterprise Police reports at the time of the shooting, officers responded to a call of a shooting at the lounge, located at 809 Daleville Avenue in Enterprise at about 2 a.m. Responding officers discovered that a Daleville Lounge security guard had been shot in the back during a physical altercation with a large group of individuals inside the lounge.
At a hearing before Wilson, Key’s attorney Paul Young told the court that there is no indication that Key carried a weapon when he went through the security scan before he entered the lounge.
The case was bound over to a grand jury.
