Martial arts champ honored at Enterprise council

Jace Himes was recognized at the Enterprise City Council meeting Nov. 19 after earning seven medals at the 2019 World Martial Arts Games in London, England while competing for Team USA. Nearly 400 competitors on 22 teams were represented at the international games. The 13 year old is a student at Coppinville Junior High School. “It’s not very often that we have a young man to go international and do the things this young man has done,” said Enterprise Mayor William “Bill” Cooper “You have really paved the way for a lot of young men and young women to continue in martial arts.” From left, are Brett Himes, father; Kylie Himes, sister; Martha Vick, grandmother; Sherry Himes, mother; Himes; and Cooper.
