Ozark woman killed by motor vehicle

An Ozark woman was declared dead at the scene of a motor vehicle accident in Ozark Monday, Feb. 3.

Beverly Miles, 68, was declared dead at the scene by Dale County Coroner Woody Hilboldt, according to Ozark Police Chief Marlos Walker.

Walker said that at approximately 6:05 p.m. the Ozark-Dale County E911 received multiple calls about a person being struck by a motor vehicle in the area of Highway 231 and Claybank Avenue in Ozark.

“Once on scene, law enforcement officers learned that the victim was crossing the busy intersection, traveling to her home,” Walker said. “It was also learned that the victim was struck more than once during the incident.”

Multiple witnesses were able to confirm the chain of events, Walker said. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victim.”
