Level Plains to introduce deferred prosecution resolution

The Level Plains City Council Deferred Prosecution Committee announced it wanted to introduce a deferred prosecution resolution to the city at the regularly scheduled Level Plains City Council meeting on July 2.

“(Councilwoman) Leanne Mohler and I have both looked it (the resolution) over and we’re in agreement that we want to introduce it to the city,” councilman Ronnie Thompson said.

The resolution will be introduced at the July 16 meeting, according to Mayor Bruce Grantham.

In other business, the council unanimously approved to send Level Plains Police Chief Ivan Keith Gray to the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police Summer Conference.

The council also approved to continue to use An Extra Hand to clean City Hall and the Level Plains Community Building at an increased rate of $225 a month.

The next Level Plains City Council meeting will be held July 16 at 6 p.m., at Level Plains City Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
