Ozark police name suspect in weekend shooting

The Ozark Police Department is asking anyone with information about the whereabouts of Qadree Atta Jesar to contact them at (334) 774-2644 or (334) 774-5111.

Jesar, 36, of Ozark, is wanted in connection with the shooting death Sunday, March 22, of Joshua Ryan McNeal, 34, also of Ozark.

According to Ozark Police Chief Marlos Walker, the shooting took place at approximately 6 p.m. in the 100 block of Washington Avenue.

Walker said that McNeal was pronounced dead at the scene and his body is being sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science.

“Investigators worked throughout the night processing the crime scene and conducting interviews to obtain more information about this crime,” Walker said. “Law enforcement were able to locate some physical evidence and key witnesses that would help determine exactly what happened during this incident.”

The Ozark Police Department, along with the Dale County Sheriff’s Department, are investigating this case, Walker said.
