Southeast Health announced Friday, due to limited testing supplies at this time, it is only testing patients for the coronavirus (COVID-19) who meet certain criteria, which includes the immediate need for hospitalization.

Patients eligible for COVID-19 testing must meet the following criteria:

• Have a consistent fever of 100.4 degrees or greater.

• Have symptoms of a respiratory infection such as cough, difficulty breathing or sore throat.

• Have traveled within the last 14 days to an affected geographic area or been in contact with someone known or suspected to have COVID-19.

• Meet in-patient hospitalization criteria.

If you meet any of the criteria above, please be sure to wear a mask upon entering the Southeast Health Emergency Department and notify staff immediately.

As a reminder, the vast majority of affected individuals will not require hospitalization. If you do not meet the criteria, you will not be tested at this time.

As more supplies become available, we will evaluate the criteria and update the community. For more information about COVID, please visit our website at
