Dale County man dies in crash

A Dale County man died in a three-vehicle crash on Monday evening, July 22.

According to a press release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Monday, Jerry Wayne Vance Jr., 43, of Ozark, was killed when the 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 he was operating entered the opposing northbound lane and collided with a 2016 Freightliner.

The crash occurred on Highway 231 near the 178 mile marker, approximately one-half mile north of Brundidge.

The release stated the driver of the Freightliner was transported to Troy Regional Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries and was later released, and the third vehicle, a 2018 Toyota Highlander, received minor property damage only.

Nothing further is available as ALEA State Troopers continue to investigate.
