After both the Enterprise Wildcats and Eufaula Tigers had games cancelled the two sides decided to meet on Dec. 30 at the Ozark Civic Center to close out the 2020 portion of their schedules and the two sides didn’t disappoint.
Enterprise and Eufaula slugged it out for four quarters before Eufaula managed to come away with a 64-58 win.
Enterprise took a 20-16 lead into the second quarter but Eufaula managed to outscore the Wildcats 20-11 in the second quarter to take a 36-31 lead into halftime. Enterprise came out firing in the third quarter and took a 46-44 lead into the final period.
Eufaula owned the fourth quarter, however, outscoring Enterprise 20-12 to come away with the win.
Enterprise shot 45 percent from the field against the Tigers, while Eufaula shot just 35 percent from the field. Enterprise also outrebounded Eufaula 37-31 but the Wildcats turned the ball over 30 times leading to 25 points off turnovers for the Tigers.
Elijah Terry led Enterprise with 17 points, nine rebounds and three assists, while Quentin Hayes scored 16 points.
Jared Smith chipped in with nine points and four rebounds along with Josh McCray’s six points, four rebound and four assists. Jalen Cunningham also had four points, eight rebounds, five assists and six steals.
Eufaula was led by Caleb Paige’s 17 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Rodarius Thomas added 13 points, eight rebounds and four steals.
Enterprise hits the road Jan. 8 as area play begins on the road against rival Dothan with both the Lady Cats and Wildcats in action.
