The Daleville Warhawks football team traveled to Slocomb on Wednesday, July 24, for 7-on-7 competition between the two schools.

Daleville and Slocomb faced off against each other in both 7-on-7 competition and in situational drills.

“I feel like we competed well,” Daleville coach Desmond Lett said. “I felt like the quarterbacks did a pretty good job throwing the ball and our (skill players) did a good job running their routes, catching the ball and getting up field.”

The Daleville defense also made a number of stops and turnovers during the competition.

“Defensively, we did a great job of keeping the offensive players in front of us and played well in man-to-man (coverage),” Lett said. “We have some holes we have to fill but I think we’re meeting the expectations of our coaches.”

Lett said that he’s been impressed with his team during summer workouts and how hard they’ve worked throughout the summer.

The Warhawks will finish summer workouts this week and begin fall camp next week as the 2019 season inches closer.
